Stepping into the online marketing world for the first time can seem overwhelming at first. You’re a new player to the digital marketing arena, you don’t have any friends, you don’t know what steps to take and everyone calls you “newbie” to make things worse. So, starting out you situation is pretty clear to you and to everyone else.
Being a newbie can be an extremely vulnerable time for new marketers and for some an advantageous time. This is the time in your new career when you either get everything right or everything goes very wrong. Unfortunately for most newcomers everything usually goes wrong.
All Skills Have A Starting Point – Entrepreneurship Included
One of the first problems newbies to internet marketing face is simply that they do not know anything about online sales and marketing. How does it all work and what are the steps they need to take? This means that trying to figure it all out yourself is not the best road to take and it’s probably a good idea to get some sort of assistance.
Getting help doesn’t mean paying thousands of dollars that you don’t have to a mentor… On the contrary, depending on your level of understanding, you might just need to head on over to YouTube and watch a few videos. For those newbies who have a basic understanding of how the internet works, this will help you out a lot, but if you are totally clueless you may just want to succumb to the idea of opening up your wallet and paying for an online training course that can help you to get going.
Budgeting for Your Business
The budget of new online entrepreneurs has an effect on what they can and cannot do during the initial phase of their business. If you are able to pay a “legitimate” online coach or instructor, they will give you a step-by-step breakdown of everything you need to do to reach you initial goals… assuming that those goals are how to get set up and how to make your first significant commissions online.
However, if you fall into the category of most new struggling entrepreneurs, you probably do not have a huge budget and one of the reasons you have decided to become an online marketer is to make necessary financial changes in your life. I get it totally! The people in this group have to learn by sifting through the content available online on places like YouTube, Facebook and by making connections through social media.
The fact that most digital marketers seem to start out without much to work with, is proof that you still can make it work. If your budget is limited and you do have a little extra to work with, you will need to spend what you can on a comprehensive online marketing course that will show you everything you need to know… without breaking the bank. This sounds difficult if you don’t know where to go, but this is more than possible.
There are a lot of marketing sites that sell loads of online products to marketers for low prices “on the front-end”. This means that the product will be extremely cheap for the initial purchase, but it will be set up in a way that you will have to pay more and more to get the real training that comes along with it. Some of these products are very good and I can’t caution you from buying them, but I will advise you to be selective of the purchases you make and make sure you only buy products that will enhance your online business immediately.
Learning By Itself Is Not Enough
There is a tendency for many newbies to get themselves stuck in a perpetual state of learning… this is a huge mistake! Learn what you can and take action immediately. This is the only way you will succeed online. The basic concepts of running a business online are the same as being an employee in this regard… If you don’t work then you don’t get paid. So, understand early on that becoming an internet marketer means that you get out of it what you put into it, which also means taking action is not a choice… it’s a must.
Taking action is the most important thing you can do for your business. This allows you to learn very quickly what works for your particular business model and what doesn’t. It also gives you the opportunity to practice some of the tasks you are not used to doing, such as writing blog posts, sending emails or creating products. It’s the practical application of what you learn that sets you up for success!
Never Give Up On Your Dreams
The last thing I will mention is the whole idea of giving up. Why would you give up on your dreams? Maybe you picked the wrong niche, maybe you didn’t take action, or the worst scenario is maybe you weren’t patient enough with the results. Everything takes time and online marketing is no different, in fact not having the promise of a weekly or monthly paycheck means you have to be more patient as your results aren’t set in stone. Try to stick to the program and as one online trainer mentioned in the past, “Embrace the process and be patient”.
When you dream big, you have to be patient…
